Rovers have been handed a defensive boost with the return to the squad of Grant Hanley and Matt Kilgallon for Saturday's match at Nottingham Forest.
A knee injury picked up whilst on international duty had sidelined skipper Hanley, forcing him to miss the Ipswich Town and Birmingham City games, but having come through training on Thursday he could come into contention.
Fellow defender Matt Kilgallon is also available once more having served his one-match ban following the red card at Portman Road, but Rovers will still be without Jason Lowe, Craig Brown and Tommy Spurr.
"Grant and Matt have both trained today so that is a good thing." revealed coach Craig Short.
"Jason is still on the sidelines, as are Chris Brown and Tommy. So we've got two back today and there were no knocks or bruises from the other night.
"Luke Varney went over on his ankle, but he's okay he trained well today, so it is one good thing that we've got a near fully-fit squad."
The return of the two defenders means further competition for places, and a selection headache, but Short sees it as a positive.
"There is that competition for places and we need that." added Short.
"Adam Henley came in the other night and did very well, he got stronger in the game. Shane Duffy has slotted in well, and Alex Baptiste has shown his versatility.
"I think we have got a very healthy squad now."
Tickets for the Forest match will be on sale from Ewood Park until 4.00pm Friday, priced £26.00 Adults, £18.00 Seniors (aged 65+), £14.00 Under 18, and £1.00 for Under 12.
