Bowyer hopes to welcome bodies back

14 October 2014

Manager Gary Bowyer hopes to have some bodies back after the international break.

Rovers were without eight senior players for the goalless draw against Huddersfield Town last time out, but the boss hopes to have more options at his disposal for this weekend’s trip to Ipswich.

Speaking about his injured stars, Bowyer said: “Rudy Gestede and Tom Cairney both trained yesterday, so we’re really pleased with the progress those two have made.

“We expect Alex Baptiste to feature in training this week, Chris Brown is doing ever so well and Tommy Spurr will play a part in the Under-21 game away at Arsenal on Friday night, so that’s another step forward for him.

“The break has been good, so now we’ve just got to get ready for Ipswich.”

Jason Lowe remains sidelined with a foot injury, whilst Rovers will run the rule over Grant Hanley and Josh King, who both picked up knocks playing for their respective countries this week.
