Bowyer hopeful of Hanley boost

19 October 2014

The Rovers medical team will assess Grant Hanley's injury situation ahead of the Ewood clash with Birmingham City on Tuesday.

Rovers' captain missed the weekend draw with Ipswich Town due to a knee injury picked up whilst on international duty with Scotland.

Boss Gary Bowyer is hopeful that the defender will have recovered in time, but they'll leave the decision as late as possible.

"Grant didn't travel," said Bowyer after the draw at Portman Road. "He trained on Friday and just felt it and didn't think he was able to play, so obviously we were disappointed with that.

"We'll see how he goes over the next two days in terms of treatment and training and we'll make that assessment on Monday."

Josh King also missed Saturday's draw with Ipswich Town due to a back injury picked up whilst with Norway. It is hoped he'll have recovered in time for the Birmingham match.

Tickets for Tuesday's game against Birmingham City are on open sale priced from £17 for Adults, £11 for Seniors/Students and from £6 for Juniors under 17.
