Eric Kinder was delighted with the way his young side performed against Arsenal in Friday night's goalless draw at Meadow Park.
The Gunners named a strong side with seniors Theo Walcott, Abou Diaby and Serge Gnabry all featuring, but they couldn't find a way through as Rovers put in a disciplined display to deserve their point.
Speaking after the match the Under-21 coach said: "I'm absolutely delighted. You come to a place like this against a side as big as Arsenal, then you see their starting line-up and you look at our side and how young we are and you fear the worse.
"But we had a game plan and the lads stuck to it, I thought our work out of possession was magnificent.
"When you are playing against the calibre of side that they had out tonight, then look at the age of our side - we could be classed as an Under-19 side not an Under-21. To come here and work as hard as we did, we fully deserved that.
"I thought it was a fabulous performance and the result proves that."
