Rovers starlet Georgia Stanway played a starring role as England Women’s Under-17s progressed to the 2015 European Championship elite qualifying round.
The Centre of Excellence forward netted the last goal in England’s 9-0 romp over Moldova in their opening group game, before bagging a late brace in the 5-0 victory over hosts Bulgaria.
Stanway then scored a hat-trick in the 4-1 win over Russia, as the Young Lionnesses secured top spot in Group 1.
John Griffiths’ side will now be among the top seeds when the draw for the elite qualifying round is made in Nyon on November 19th. The Euro finals will take place in Iceland next summer.
Stanway will link up with her international team-mates again this weekend for a training camp and friendly fixture at St. George’s Park.
The 15-year-old has been included in a 26-player squad, who will join up in Burton between Friday November 7th and Monday November 10th, which is when England will play Germany in a behind-closed-doors game.
Stanway has also been selected as one of 20 young female footballers to represent The FA at the Youth Sport Trust National Talent Camp next month.
Taking place from Friday December 19th to Monday December 22nd, the YST National Talent Camp 2014 will bring together 350 of the country's most talented young sports people to take part in a transformational and inspiring four-day residential experience.
