Tommy Spurr has been handed a role of a different kind this weekend.
The Rovers defender hasn't yet recovered from a troublesome groin injury that has sidelined the popular full-back for the first half of the season.
So this Saturday, boss Gary Bowyer will utilise Spurr's skills by getting him to scout Rovers' next opponents Sheffield Wednesday when they face Wigan Athletic at Hillsborough.
"We've got him out scouting for us this weekend to keep him involved," revealed the Rovers boss.
"You've got to make sure that these players still feel valued and still part of it.
"Tommy Spurr has got a massive role to play for us this season, so he's doing a bit of scouting for us this weekend, we'll need his input on that.
"He is going to watch a Championship match for us, so it gives a player's view of what he'll see and how the opposition play which will be good as well."
