Onwards and upwards

11 November 2014

After stretching their unbeaten league run to seven matches, Ryan Tunnicliffe is confident that Rovers are heading in the right direction.

No team got the better of Rovers during a busy period of fixtures between the October and November international breaks, and the midfielder knows that if they can just start as well as they end matches, then they'll quickly rise further up the table.

Saturday's draw at Brighton was the perfect example as once again Rovers rallied in the second half to earn a share of the points. The sixth time they've come from behind this season.

"We just need to get a 90-minute performance from everyone," said Tunnicliffe. "If we start off as well as we finish games then I can’t see many teams beating us.

"I don’t know what it can be. We’re a very fit team so when other teams die out we can keep going for 90 or 100 minutes if need be, but we can’t keep coming it at half-time and leaving it until the second half.

"We need to begin starting games better and then we’ll get more wins then picking up more points."

The draw at the Amex Stadium saw Rovers move back into 7th place, just a point outside the play-off places, and the on-loan midfielder feels that with the spirit in the camp high, it won't be long before they are in the top six.

"It is a great group of lads and everyone is playing with a smile on their face," added Tunnicliffe. "Team spirit is massive and I think we are going onwards and upwards.

"It’s always good to play in a good side and I’m enjoying it a lot. I think the minimum aim has got to be to get into the play-offs. I think we’re good enough, we’ve played all the decent teams in the league now and come to a lot of away grounds and we’re not far off."

Tunnicliffe and Rovers return to action after the international break when Leeds United are the visitors to Ewood Park on Saturday 22nd November.

Tickets are on sale to Rovers supporters with a database history of purchasing tickets for home league games. Prices are from £21 Adults, £13 for Seniors 65+, £13 for Students, and from £8 for Juniors under 17.
