Hard work reaps rewards

3 November 2014

Boss Gary Bowyer felt Saturday's win over Reading was just reward for their hard work in recent weeks.

The 3-1 victory saw Rovers make it three wins on the trot and in the process stretch their current unbeaten run to five games.

As Bowyer and the squad travel south to face Millwall this Tuesday evening, the manager is delighted that they're now seeing performances turned into points.

"I've been saying that the only thing really missing from our performances has been a run of results and consistency," said the Rovers boss. "We are now currently in that run of form.

"Momentum is a wonderful thing in football and at the moment we've got that. We keep focusing on the performances, our energy levels have been fantastic, and we've got the ability to score goals."

The manager also highlighted the display of Jordan Rhodes on Saturday. The striker might have been unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet, but his all-round performance pleased his boss.

"With five minutes to go you see Jordan Rhodes putting a hell of a tackle in on their centre half in the far corner," added Bowyer. "That epitomises the work ethic and the team ethos that we've got at this club now.

"I thought we defended from the front well on Saturday."

Rovers fans who haven't yet purchased tickets for Tuesday's match against Millwall can do so on the day of the game.

Tickets will go off sale at the Roverstore in Blackburn town centre at 5.30pm this Monday, and at Ewood Park at 11.30am on Tuesday.

After that they'll be available from the North Stand Ticket office at the Den on the evening of the game.

Some 300 tickets have been sold so far as Gary Bowyer's side travel to the capital looking for a fourth consecutive win.
