Gary Bowyer is hopeful that he'll be able to welcome back Lee Williamson to the squad for the weekend trip to Brighton.
The midfielder hasn't featured for Rovers since limping out of the win over Reading last Saturday, missing the midweek match at Millwall in the process.
The Rovers boss has his fingers crossed that Williamson will have shaken off the groin niggle in time to face the Seagulls, and will leave it as long as possible for him to prove his fitness.
"He's worked hard to try and get fit and we'll give him as long as we possibly can to make the trip," said Bowyer.
"We need his experience, he's been ever so good but it doesn't surprise us. Sometimes it goes un-noticed what he does but I'm pleased he's got the recognition recently in his performances."
But whilst Bowyer waits on one midfielder, Ben Marshall has shaken off the effects of the challenge that saw Millwall's Andy Wilkinson red carded at the Den on Tuesday.
"Ben is sore but we'll wheel him out," added the Rovers boss. "With the confidence that he's got at the moment he'll be desperate to go out and play."
Rovers are still without those with longer term injuries but Bowyer is hopeful of a selection headache once the international break is over.
The manager added: "We are looking forward to coming back after the international break already in terms of injuries because we feel Jason Lowe won't be too far away, Chris Brown certainly should be back in the fold, Tommy Spurr won't be too far and Josh King as well.
"So we are hopeful that they can give us a real boost just before Christmas. It will really strengthen us and make competition really good which can only be of benefit for the team."
