A game to look forward to

21 November 2014

Gary Bowyer is anticipating an atmosphere to relish when Rovers take on Leeds United at Ewood Park tomorrow.

The club are expecting their largest crowd of the season so far for the Roses clash as Rovers look to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches.

The manager was impressed with the backing his side received as they defeated Reading 3-1 on their last home outing, and with the visitors bringing a large following, the home support will need to be just as vocal once more.

"It is always a fixture that you look for when they come out in the summer - both home and away - because they are two fantastic games in terms of the noise levels and the atmosphere that is created by both sets of fans," said the Rovers boss.

"Leeds will be bringing close to 7000 and they are going to be making a lot of noise, so it is up to our supporters to give us the backing that they gave us against Reading.

"They were phenomenal that day and we are going to need the same again because there are going to be times in the game where Leeds will have a spell and rather than getting frustrating we need them to back us."

Bowyer is looking forward to locking horns with Leeds boss Neil Redfearn and knows it won't be easy against a Whites team looking to rise up the table after an eventful start to the season.

"Neil knows the club inside out, he's been there a long time," added Bowyer.

"He's done all the roles, similar to myself, and common sense seems to have prevailed and they've given him the job.

"Leeds are one of those clubs that have turned it around in the last couple of weeks and it will be a tough, tough game."

Rovers are encouraging supporters to get their tickets for Saturday's match against Leeds United in advance as tickets for the Roses clash will go off sale at Ewood Park at 12 noon on the day of the game.

Tickets for the game are currently on sale to home fans with a database history of purchasing match tickets and supporters can pre-book in advance online at or via the call centre on 0871 222 1444 and collect from the Roverstore collection point on the day of the game.

Tickets are also available in store at the Roverstore at Ewood Park and the Oneroverstore on Church Street in Blackburn.

Prices are on sale from £21 for Adults, from £13 for Seniors 65 and over, and from just £8 for Under-17s.

The club is anticipating its biggest attendance of the season, swelled by a sizeable visiting support. Therefore, supporters are being advised to arrive early to avoid delays.

Due to the large number of away coaches, this could cause congestion on the approach roads to Ewood Park, especially from the Darwen End, which is likely to impact on users of Car Park B.

Also with roadworks that are part of the Pennine Reach Ewood Gyratory Scheme, car parking options around the stadium are reduced. Matchday parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis from Car Park H and Car Park F priced at £10.
