Still in the race

Despite needing an unlikely set of results on Saturday, striker Rudy Gestede believes it isn't impossible that Rovers can reach the top six.

Rovers need to beat Wigan Athletic by a healthy goal margin, hope Burnley can do the same at Reading, and also that Nottingham Forest defeat Brighton for Gary Bowyer's side to make the play-offs.

Gestede, who won the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for April, isn't ruling it out, but believes that it has been a good season for the Rovers no matter what occurs this Saturday.

"Whatever happens I think we have done very well this season," said Gestede.

"We are still in the race, football is crazy sometimes so maybe we can get it. We are going to do our best on Saturday.

"But even if we don't do it then next season we are going to be a good team and a hard team to beat. We have proved that with the last eleven games unbeaten.

"We have a strong team, very good players, strong young players, and have everything to compete with the best in this league."

Give Gestede and the rest of the Rovers squad a great send off when Rovers face Wigan Athletic at Ewood Park in the 12.15pm kick-off.

Tickets for Saturday's match will be on sale until the 12.15pm kick-off. It is Kids for a Quid on matchday, Adult prices from £19, Seniors from £12.
