Lenihan's Irish hopes

Darragh Lenihan will be hoping to earn his first cap at Under-21 level when the Republic of Ireland take on Qatar in Aachen, Germany this Saturday.

The versatile youngster, who has played in both midfield and the centre of defence for Rovers' development squad, is part of a new-look 18-man squad for the international friendly.

After overcoming a series of injury problems early in his Rovers career, the Dublin-born youngster made 16 appearances for the Under-21s last season, impressing in captaining Eric Kinder's side. He was also a member of Gary Bowyer's first team squad on occasion, twice being an unused substitute.
