I've had a great time here

6 May 2014

Michael Keane has thoroughly enjoyed his time on loan at Blackburn Rovers.

The defender's loan deal from Manchester United ended after Rovers' 4-3 win over Wigan Athletic on the final day of the season, with Keane admitting that if the opportunity arose, he'd consider returning to Rovers once more.

"I've had a great time since I've been here," Keane told Radio Rovers. "When I first came it was just initially to get a few games but it has ended up being much more than that.

"We've put a great run together lately and it has been a good push for the play-offs. In the end we ran it close, but just not quite close enough."

The 21-year-old was pleased to see his loan spell end on a high, and to deliver such an entertaining game for the supporters.

Keane added: "It was important to get the win. That was the main aim going into the game.

"Obviously we wanted to score loads of goals but when it came down to it we just wanted to win the game and finish the season on a high in front of the home fans who have been great all season.

"So it is pleasing that we gave them an entertaining game and to send them home happy."

Keane will now return to parent club Manchester United, but hasn't ruled out returning to Rovers once more.

"First things first I'll have to see who gets the United job and then see what happens," added the defender.

"If I was coming to the Championship I would definitely consider coming back to Blackburn.

"I've had a great time here and I've seen how good the team is and I seriously think next season they'll will be pushing for promotion."
