Evans to face Uruguay

30 May 2014

Corry Evans returns to the international fold this Friday evening when Northern Ireland take on Uruguay in Montevideo.

The Rovers star hasn't featured for his country since sustaining ankle ligament damage during a World Cup qualifier in Israel back in October, an injury that sidelined the midfielder for four months.

Evans ended the season strongly for Rovers and will be looking to press his claims for a regular starting berth in Michael O'Neill's side with the Euro 2016 qualifiers starting in September.

The Irish play two World Cup hopefuls over the space of five days, Uruguay this Friday followed by an away match against Chile next Wednesday.
