Under-21s at Ewood

3 March 2014

Football returns to Ewood Park this Monday night when the Under-21s take on Newcastle United, kick-off 7.00pm.

Eric Kinder's young charges will be looking to bounce back from defeat last time out when they lost at Aston Villa.

Simon Eastwood will be the most senior player on show this evening. The Rovers goalkeeper, who put pen-to-paper on a new contract at the club last Friday, starts between the sticks.

Darragh Lenihan, who was an unused substitute in Saturday's first team match against Bolton Wanderers, will captain the side.

There's a welcome return to action for forward Devarn Green, whilst Academy midfielder Hyuga Tanner will make his debut at Under-21 level.

Luke Wall, fresh from scoring a hat-trick for the Under-18s at the weekend, makes the substitute's bench.

Tonight's visitors have also named a youthful squad with only a smattering of first team experience in their ranks.

ROVERS: Eastwood, Fernandez, Beesley, Tanner, Edwards, Lenihan (c), Paulo Jorge, Bauress, Preston, Green, Smith.

Subs: Pero, Raya, Cham, Wall, Doyle.

NEWCASTLE: Mitchell, Sterry, Gibson, Bigirimana, Williams, Satka, Richardson, Olley, Quinn, Armstrong, Aarons.

Subs: McKinnon, Pearson, Barlaser, Roberts, Gilliead.

Season ticket holders can see this evening's game for free on production of their season ticket card. General admission prices are £4 Adults, £2 Concessions.

The Jack Walker Lower Tier will be open for the game.
