The standard has been set

25 March 2014

Gary Bowyer has challenged the players to maintain their upturn in form as they travel to face Watford this Tuesday night.

Rovers go into the game against the Hornets off the back of a 4-2 away win over Huddersfield Town and last weekend's worthy draw against league leaders Leicester City.

As Rovers enter the crucial period of the season, the manager knows that there is no margin for error, and that they have to reproduce once more.

"We go to Watford in confidence off the back of a good away win at Huddersfield and a very good performance at home to Leicester - second half especially," said the manager.

"Leicester's comments after the game that it was one of their hardest games, if not the hardest game they've had this season should fill our players with confidence.

"After Saturday's game we challenged our lads straight away, we've got to go and do that again.

"We've got six games in three weeks now, this squad is going to get tested, people are going to get rested, people are going to come in and everybody now knows the standard that is required now once they put the shirt on.

"They've shown that in the last two games and responded magnificently, we've patted ourselves on the back for a bit after the Leicester game but then thrown the gauntlet down to them to reproduce it again."
