Stability leads to success

22 March 2014

Gary Bowyer believes that Leicester City are a shining example of how to be a successful Championship club.

Rovers welcome the league leaders to Ewood Park this Saturday, with Bowyer full of praise for the work Nigel Pearson has done at the Foxes.

Leicester City narrowly missed out on promotion last season after defeat in the play-offs, but with a settled squad, they've taken the league by storm this campaign with a seven-point lead at the top of the division.

And for the Rovers boss, he believes it is a formula that has to be followed.

"If you look at last August when we played them at Ewood, I think they've got ten of their starting eleven that day still at the club," said Bowyer. "I think we've got two and one of theirs is here now in Ben Marshall.

"So it shows how sticking to a formula and sticking with the right manager, going all the way through, leads to success.

"Stability is what we have been talking about for a while now, this is Nigel Pearson's third season in charge. He's had to get rid of some big wage earners off his wage bill and it is something that we've had to do and are going about doing it."

Tickets for this afternoon's match will be on open sale until the 3.00pm kick-off. Tickets are priced from £19 Adults, £12 Seniors and £7 Juniors.
