Rovers to appeal Hanley red

30 March 2014

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has revealed that the club will be appealing the sending off of Grant Hanley.

The Rovers captain received his marching orders after being adjudged to have fouled Steve Morison in the penalty area.

The red card means Rovers could lose Hanley for two matches, but having seen the replays the manager has vowed to appeal the decision.

Speaking after the game Bowyer said: "I thought he was giving a free-kick to us because the lad had his arm around Grant's neck.

"We are going to appeal, one, because it is not a foul in our opinion, and two, we felt Matt Kilgallon was covering round.

"'So we'll appeal and see what that does."

Rovers are back in action this Tuesday night when Brighton & Hove Albion are the visitors to Ewood Park.

Tickets are currently on open sale priced from £15 Adults, £10 Seniors and £5 Juniors. Book online today at and collect your tickets from the Blackburn End collection point on the day of the game.
