Rovers fans affected by cancer enjoy VIP day out at Ewood Park
In partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, Rovers fans affected by cancer have been invited to attend a Good Together VIP Day at today’s game against Leicester City.
Free of charge, Good Together guests will enjoy pre-match hospitality at Ewood Park, where they will be treated to an informal lunch, during which they can relax and chat to other fans, as well as local Macmillan information professionals, who will be on hand to answer any questions or offer guidance on the range of support available across East Lancashire.
In addition, fans from both clubs will be welcome aboard the Macmillan mobile information centre, which will be positioned outside the Roverstore. Fans affected by cancer will be able to ask Macmillan information specialists for expert advice regarding financial, emotional, medical and practical support.
Rovers manager Gary Bowyer said: “Blackburn Rovers are very proud to be a Macmillan Good Together partner and we’re looking forward to our second Macmillan Good Together VIP day for fans affected by cancer. We hope our fans enjoy the day, connect with other Rovers fans facing similar challenges and find out about Macmillan’s wide range of vital support services available to them.”
Linda Hill, Macmillan Involvement Coordinator for Lancashire, added: “At Macmillan Cancer Support, we believe that no-one should face cancer alone, so we are delighted to be working in partnership with Blackburn Rovers on our Good Together programme. Through the fantastic Good Together events, Macmillan will be able to reach and support many more people affected by cancer in East Lancashire who feel isolated, to ensure they access the vital support that they need.”
