Leaving it late

7 March 2014

Gary Bowyer will decide after Saturday training just who will be involved in Sunday's derby against Burnley.

The Rovers boss has several injury doubts ahead of the lunchtime clash at Ewood Park, and will give those players as long as possible to prove their fitness.

Grant Hanley, David Dunn, Tom Cairney and Josh King all missed last week's loss at Bolton, whilst Matt Kilgallon also limped out. But the manager is hopeful that some could return for the 12.30pm kick-off.

"The injured players have certainly progressed nicely throughout the week and we are giving them every opportunity to try and make the game on Sunday," revealed the manager on Friday afternoon.

"I think we had seven missing last week, big players and important players for us.

"Our squad isn't the biggest and it has had an effect on us but it has then provided other people with opportunities and it is up to them to take them.

"We are giving everybody the most opportunity to try and be in contention for Sunday, that is where we are at at the moment with injuries."

Supporters are reminded that there will be no tickets on sale on the day of the Burnley game.

Rovers fans who have a database history of purchasing tickets have until 4.00pm on Saturday to get them from the Roverstore at Ewood Park, and until 5.30pm from the Oneroverstore in Blackburn town centre.

Adult prices are from £25 for Sunday's 12.30pm kick-off, but supporters can purchase a Burnley and AFC Bournemouth ticket together for just £31 for the two games in the RFS Riverside Stand with our special double deal discount.
