Continued improvement for Evans

29 March 2014

Gary Bowyer feels that Corry Evans will continue to get better as the season draws to a close.

The Northern Ireland international had missed a huge chunk of the season after picking up an ankle ligament whilst on duty for his country back in October, only returning to action in February.

Evans has started Rovers' last five matches and the manager believes he is getting stronger with every outing.

"We knew he'd need a couple of games," Bowyer told Rovers Player. "He's played three games in a week and by his own admission he was getting better and better in each game.

"He needed that and we knew that. I think now you are really seeing him come to the fore.

"When we brought him into the club we knew he was a good player and just at the time he got injured it was a big blow for us as he was just hitting peak form and we are now just at that stage with him, he can only get better.

"The major frustration was that he did it playing for his country and not for us, so that is frustrating from our point of view."

See Evans and Rovers in action against Millwall later today, tickets will be on sale from the North Stand Ticket Office at The Den, priced  £26.00 Adults, £17.00 Seniors (aged 60+), £13.00 Under 16s, and £7.00 Under 12s.
