A memorable night

29 March 2014

Gary Bowyer has fond memories of Rovers' last visit to The Den in what was possibly their most important result of last season.

Rovers were just two points off the bottom three when they played their game in hand against Millwall at the end of April 2013, but they did what was required, coming from behind to beat the Lions 2-1 thanks to an own goal and a Jordan Rhodes penalty in the second half.

"If we hadn't have got that result there then who knows," said the Rovers boss. "We might not have been playing in this league this year.

"That was the size of that win, we knew that was our game in hand and we knew we had to win it to get us clear of the trouble that we found ourselves in.

"The lads performed magnificently in a very hostile environment that night, it was fierce.

"The amount of points that was needed was incredible and going into that game off the back of a 4-0 defeat at Watford, not many people would have given us of a chance, especially at half-time when we were losing 1-0. I'm sure there was some people that thought that was it."

Tickets for the Millwall match will be on sale from the North Stand Ticket Office at The Den, priced  £26.00 Adults, £17.00 Seniors (aged 60+), £13.00 Under 16s, and £7.00 Under 12s.
