Gary Bowyer is excited at the prospect of taking charge of his first East Lancashire derby at Ewood Park this afternoon.
The Rovers boss was in the dugout at Turf Moor for the 1-1 draw earlier this season, and can't wait for this lunchtime's encounter.
"It is great, it is something that you want to be involved in," said Bowyer. "That is why we are involved in football for atmospheres and games like this.
"It is going to be a fierce local derby, but it is important that we play the game and not the occasion.
"Both sides will be very competitive and both sides will look and try and play football. That is exactly what we'll be expecting.
"The main thing is to focus on the performance and their own individual performances rather than the outcome and the occasion.
"Everybody knows that it is a big game and a different game, but we've got to really focus on doing what we know we are capable of.
"The most important thing is that everybody comes and cheers their team on and goes home peacefully."
