The Wilson family from Blackburn will attend matches at Ewood Park for free next season after being named worthy winners of a Family Golden Ticket.
Mum Jeanette Wilson nominated her family after enduring a ‘very tough few years’, during which time she lost her son, her job and her home.
After winning four free season tickets for the 2014-15 Championship campaign, Jeanette is looking forward to bringing her two boys, Jack and Cody-Jay, to watch ‘something they love’.
“I’m absolutely over the moon”, she said. “I’ve got an eight-year-old, a two-year-old and my husband, James, who are all obsessed with Rovers and having this opportunity to watch a game every week is fantastic. I’m chuffed to bits!”
The Wilson’s were one of six families shortlisted for the special prize following another fantastic response from fans.
The final decision was made by Rovers’ owner Madam Desai, who ran the rule over the six finalists.
“Madam Desai found it very difficult to choose just one winner, so we have decided to reward the other five families with one Golden Ticket each in recognition of their great support,” said Rovers’ Director of Communications Alan Myers.
The five lucky families will be revealed on the Rovers website over the next five days.
The club are giving away 20 free season tickets in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Rovers’ Premiership title triumph in 1994-95. Details of the next Golden Ticket giveaway will be announced soon.
