Four Rovers’ stars represented the home nations at the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France.
Colin Hendry, Kevin Gallacher and Billy McKinlay all boarded the plane for Scotland, whilst Tim Flowers was included in the England squad.
All three Scots featured in their opening game against eventual finalists Brazil and held their own in a narrow 2-1 defeat.
Former Rovers captain Hendry and striker Gallacher featured in their second match – a 1-1 draw with Norway – and again in a 3-0 defeat against Morocco as they finished bottom of their group.
Flowers, who made over 200 appearances for Rovers, was taken to France as back-up to first choice goalkeeper David Seaman and did not make an appearance as England finished second in their group, behind Romania, before suffering penalty shoot-out heartbreak against Argentina in the next round.
