Just two Rovers stars jetted over to the USA for the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
Defensive duo Henning Berg and Kevin Moran were both selected in their respective national squads, Norway and Republic of Ireland.
Both nations were drawn into the same group, alongside Mexico and Italy, but Moran failed to make an appearance due to injury as Ireland reached the last 16.
However, that is where their journey ended as they were defeated 2-0 by Holland.
Former Rovers manager Berg, who made almost 300 appearances during his two spells as a player at Ewood Park, started all three games for Norway in the group stage.
The Norwegians were desperately unlucky not to progress to the next round as all four teams finished the group level with four points, with Berg’s side missing out on goals scored.
