Rovers are delighted to announce the introduction of its Away Fan Ambassador for the 2014-15 Championship season.
Roverstore supervisor Nathan Regan will take up this key role and will be the main point of contact for fans travelling to watch Rovers on the road, as well as for fans visiting Ewood Park.
The move comes following Rovers’ fantastic away support last season, which saw (on average) over 1,000 fans back Gary Bowyer’s boys up and down the country throughout the 2013-14 campaign.
Rovers rewarded their tremendous travelling throng of supporters at the final away fixture of the season, at Charlton, by handing out free blue-and-white scarves.
Nathan will provide valuable information on tickets and travel, and will also be responsible for sourcing potential deals and discounts on hotels, car parking and refreshments.
The 22-year-old will have a designated Twitter and email account for fans to engage directly with him on matchdays and in the build-up to games.
“I’m really looking forward to being the link between the fans and the club,” said Nathan, who has worked for Rovers for six years.
“I’m a passionate Rovers fan, so I’m looking forward to supporting the team along with the fans travelling to games.”
Nathan is no stranger to long road trips, having recently completed the Football League’s charity cycle challenge in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
Rovers’ representative for the event cycled the gruelling 150 miles from London to Amsterdam, ahead of the World Cup, finishing inside the top 20 out of a field of over 150 riders.
“It was very challenging, but also very rewarding,” Nathan added. “I met a lot of people from a lot of different clubs and it was all for a good cause. I want to say thanks to all the people who have sponsored and supported me.”
