Gary Bowyer believes the club have added a new dimension to the team with the signing of striker Chris Brown.
Rovers today completed the free transfer of Brown from Doncaster and Bowyer is delighted to have his new man on board.
“We’re delighted that Chris has agreed to join us,” said the Rovers manager.
“He’s a target man, who can also link up play. He did well in the Championship last season and for us to bring him into the football club is a good piece of business.
“He fits in to our model. He’s hard working, he’s a good character, he wants to improve and we’ll provide him with the opportunity to do that.
“Hopefully he can be just as successful as the other free transfer we made from Doncaster last season, Tommy Spurr.
“Contrary to reports, he is not on the wages that their Chairman has stated and we are disappointed that for the second summer running he has made comments regarding player’s wages that are both unwelcome and inaccurate.”
