Strong squad to face Stanley

23 July 2014

Gary Bowyer will take a strong squad to the Store First Stadium this evening as Rovers continue their pre-season preparations with a friendly match against Accrington Stanley.

The manager has a near fully fit squad to choose from, with many of the first team players expected to get a runout against James Beattie's Stanley.

Rovers will be without new signing Chris Brown and defender Tommy Spurr as the pair have only just returned to full training, whilst Rudy Gestede has been on international duty and misses out.

"It might be a bit early for Browny and Tommy because they've only just joined back in the football," said Bowyer. "But they'll certainly look to feature on Saturday as will Rudy.

"Apart from that we'll be taking a strong team and they'll play so many minutes that is part of their plan and then we'll finish with some of the younger lads playing."

Tickets for the game will go off sale at Ewood Park at 4.00pm. After that fans can pay on the turnstiles, cash only. Prices are £15 for Adults, £10 for Seniors and Students, £5 for Under 17s.
