Gary Bowyer was pleased to give the majority of his first team squad 45 minutes under their belts as Rovers returned to action at the weekend with a win over AFC Telford United.
Four second half goals saw Rovers triumph at the New Bucks Head Stadium, with the manager satisfied with the workout and an injury-free match.
"The main objective was to give everybody 45 minutes," said Bowyer after the game. "It is a fantastic set-up here and it was a good workout for us.
"You've always got the beginning of pre-season where the pitch is a little bit sticky and the grass is a little bit longer, but it is about getting your timings right and getting your fitness levels up and that is what has been achieved and we are delighted with that.
"It was important that we came through it unscathed with no injuries at this stage and we are happy with that as well."
The Rovers boss was also pleased with the performances of the younger players who featured as Anthony O'Connor, Darragh Lenihan, John O'Sullivan, Jack O'Connell and Devarn Green.
"I thought the young lads who got their opportunity in the second half, they put a case forward," added the manager,
"I thought Anthony O'Connor did well at left back in the first half, so I'm pleased with everybody."
