Gary Bowyer was pleased to see Tommy Spurr back in action for Rovers at the weekend.
The popular defender got his first taste of pre-season football on Saturday, playing 45 minutes in the goalless draw with Bradford City.
The full back was sidelined for the final three games of last season through injury and a groin niggle picked up at the beginning pre-season saw him miss the first two friendly matches.
But Spurr came through the first half against Bradford match and is expected to feature for longer against Bury at the JD Stadium this Wednesday night.
"I'm delighted, he's worked hard to be fair to him," said the Rovers boss.
"You look at the quality that he produced last season for us and we are delighted that he's back.
"He's got 45 minutes under his belt now and we'll look to step that up against Bury and Stoke."
Tickets for the Bury match are currently on sale from the Roverstore at Ewood, the Oneroverstore in Blackburn town centre and online at www.onerovers.co.uk. Fans can also pay on the night of the game at the turnstiles. Price are £10 Adults, £5 concessions.
