Gary Bowyer is delighted that Jordan Rhodes has committed his long-term future to the football club.
Rovers' record signing signed a two-year extension to his existing contract, taking him to the summer of 2019.
Rhodes has been a huge hit since joining from Huddersfield Town in the summer of 2012, scoring 53 goals for Rovers.
Now as the squad prepare to get their pre-season preparations underway with a match against AFC Telford United tomorrow, Bowyer has challenged the 24-year-old to continue to improve.
"I'm delighted to get it done," said the Rovers boss. "It has been going on for a number of months so to finally get it all sorted is great news for the football club.
"We look forward to him doing what he does very well and that is scoring goals again.
"We felt that his all round game improved again last year, he knows he needs to improve further and he's willing to do so it makes him a better player."
Rhodes and Rovers are back in action on Saturday when they take on newly promoted Conference side AFC Telford United at the New Bucks Stadium.
Fans can pay on the turnstiles at the ground from 1.30pm with admission prices of £10.00 for adults, £8.00 for concessions aged 65 and over and £2.00 for supporters under 16.
The Rovers fans are situated in the Budget Gas Frank Nagington Stand.
Kick-off is at 3.00pm. For those unable to attend Rovers Player will be providing full match commentary.
