Gary Bowyer hailed a near-perfect away display as Rovers started 2014 with all three points against Leeds United.
First half strikes from Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede put Rovers well in control, and although Matt Smith reduced arrears early in the second half, the visitors saw out the game with relative ease to claim a thoroughly deserved 2-1 win and a league double over the Yorkshire side.
"I think we continued from where we were against Birmingham, bar the silly mistakes" said the Rovers boss.
"We've come here today, a tough place to come, a noisy New Years Day crowd, and our young team and young players have stood up magnificently to it.
"In the first half we were outstanding and we should have been out of sight, we scored two good goals, one cleared off the line, a certain penalty. We controlled the game.
"We knew there would be a period in the game where Leeds would come at us and that was exactly what happened at the start of the second half, and again it is a silly goal we gave away.
"But I can't praise our lads enough for the way that they responded, they didn't panic, they kept the ball and they showed a lot of maturity in there."
Rovers are back in action this Saturday when they take on Manchester City in the FA Cup.
Tickets are currently on sale to Rovers database members, priced from £15 Adults, £10 Seniors and £5 Juniors. Book online today at www.onerovers.co.uk.
