We believe

4 January 2014

Tom Cairney insists Rovers are out to cause an upset in the FA Cup this Saturday lunchtime.

Manchester City are huge favourites to progress through to the fourth round of the competition, but Rovers' latest signing sees no reason why they can't beat their near-neighbours.

"They've a squad full of international players and class acts but it is about us doing what we do," said Cairney.

"We always create chances in games and hopefully they won't like it at Ewood, it might be a bit windy, a little rainy, who knows? The FA Cup is special, strange things can happen, but we definitely know that it will be a tough test against a top side."

The 22-year-old is looking forward to coming up against established internationals and believes it is an opportunity to relish rather than a match to fear.

"Everyone expects Man City to win and progress to the next round, but it is sometimes good to see what level you are at compared to them," added the midfielder.

"You see them week in, week out and you realise they are special players, so to play against them is a great opportunity and we've got to relish it.

"We are going out there to get through to the next round, we are out to cause an upset. No-one outside our changing room will give us much of a chance but we believe we can get something out of the game."

Rovers Player will be providing full 90 minute commentary of the cup tie, our broadcast starts at 9am.
