Rovers Ladies star Steffi Hardy captained English Colleges Under-19s in a high-profile international against Australia.
The defender, who was singled out for special praise by manager Gordon Staniforth after the game, was one of three Rovers players on England duty.
Helen Seed and Steffi’s sister Rio Hardy also featured in the 2-1 defeat, which took place at Sutton Coldfield Town FC.
The Hardy twins, who study at Accrington and Rossendale College, both played the full 90 minutes, whilst Seed, of Runshaw College, was introduced early on.
Australia led 1-0 at half-time, but England piled on the pressure after the break and grabbed a deserved equaliser when Laura Bartup followed up after a penalty had been saved.
However, the tourists went straight up the other end and scored the winner from a corner.
The English Colleges team are back in action on Wednesday January 29th when they visit Bristol Academy.
