Rudy: Maintain our winning run

17 January 2014

Rovers striker Rudy Gestede aims to continue his goalscoring start to 2014 by striking at the City Ground on Saturday.

The Benin international grabbed his first goal in Rovers colours in the New Years Day win over Leeds United and followed that up with the winning goal against Doncaster Rovers last time out in the league.

Gestede was an unused substitute in Wednesday's FA Cup clash with Manchester City, but he is expected to be back leading the line on Saturday.

"I'm a striker, I'm there to score goals, so it has been good, I've scored, we win games, I hope we can continue like this!" said Gestede on Radio Rovers.

"But the main thing is to win the game, I don't care if it is me, Jordan or someone else who scores, I am not a selfish player.

"It is important to keep on winning games, we have important matches against our rivals coming up.

"We will see what we can do but I know we are capable of having a good game and beat this type of team.

"I joined the club because I thought we could do it and I'm still thinking that, a play-off place is realistic."

Tickets for Saturday's match are currently on sale priced £25.00 Adults, £18.00 Seniors (aged 65+), £12.00 Under 18, £6.00 Under 12. Call the ticket office on 0871 222 1444 to book.

Tickets will be available on the day of the game but prices rise by £2.
