Adam Henley believes this weekend's match against Derby County gives Rovers the perfect chance to show their play-off credentials.
Rovers are up against an in-form Rams side fourth in the table, but the full back is sure the home side can all three points at Ewood Park.
"It is a massive game and a good chance for us to come back and put in a good performance against a side in the play-offs," said Henley.
"It will be good to go up against them and prove to the league that we are genuine contenders for the play-offs. A win would be good for the team and get us back on it."
Henley knows the importance of getting back to winning ways after last week's 4-1 loss at Nottingham Forest.
"Last weekend was obviously disappointing for all of us but it is important that we get back together and get back on the winning trail," added the 19-year-old.
"All through the season you are going to have disappointing games like that so it is important that you respond from it quickly. You can't dwell on it too much.
"It was always going to be a tough game, but we've got more rest between the games now after the Christmas period and hopefully we can see the results.
"Things will settle down now and it gives a chance to put more work in training and prepare well for the games."
