Just enjoy it

15 January 2014

Boss Gary Bowyer says the mood in the camp is one of excitement as Rovers prepare to take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this Wednesday night.

Rovers go into the game against last year's beaten finalists in fine form with league wins over Leeds United and Doncaster Rovers either side of the 3rd round draw against this evening's opponents.

"We won't approach it any different in terms of our preparation, but it is a completely different game because we are playing against world class players and it is the FA Cup," said the manager.

"The young lads have no fear, all they know is how to go and play and that is exactly what we'll expect of them again. We've also old heads around that will help them if required.

"The mood is one of excitement, we asked them who wanted a rest and we didn't get an answer so they are all wanting to play in it, that tells you how far they have come so quickly."

Rovers more than held their own in the first game at Ewood Park, a match the manager feels the experience of the encounter can serve them well in tonight's replay.

Bowyer added: "I think they learnt massively last time. Their speed of play, their quality on the ball, the value of possession and keeping the ball was massive for our lads.

"It excited them. After the game everyone was talking about the game and you could see and hear the excitement in them.

"It is something that they are going to get an opportunity to do again which is great for them because they are a young team, we've got some experience back in there now, but they are learning all the time and improving.

"We've got to go and just enjoy it and give a good account of ourselves."

Tickets will go off sale at Ewood Park at 4.00pm today. Supporters can buy from the Etihad Stadium at the ticket office at the north end ground. Prices are from £15 Adults, £10 Seniors/16-21yr-olds and £5 Juniors.
