Home tie awaits winners

5 January 2014

If Rovers can overcome Manchester City in their FA Cup with Budweiser 3rd round replay in ten days time they'll face another home tie.

After Scott Dann's second half strike at Ewood earned a reply with last season's finalists, the reward for the winners will be a home match against either Bristol City or Watford in the fourth round.

At Ashton Gate on Saturday an equaliser from Bristol City forward Jay Emmanuel-Thomas earned the Robins a replay at Vicarage Road, cancelling out Sean Murray's second half opener.

Rovers have already defeated Watford at Ewood Park this season, Jordan Rhodes' second half header seeing the Lancashire club earn all three points.

Whilst last season Rovers knocked out Bristol City in the third round of the competition thanks to strikes from Danny Murphy and Grant Hanley.

Ticketing arrangements for the 3rd round replay at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday 15th January, kick-off 7.45pm, should be confirmed on Monday.

The draw in full:

Sunderland v Kidderminster Harriers or Peterborough United
Bolton Wanderers v Cardiff City
Southampton v Yeovil Town
Huddersfield Town v Charlton Athletic or Oxford United
Port Vale or Plymouth Argyle v Brighton & Hove Albion
Nottingham Forest v Ipswich Town or Preston North End
