Tommy Spurr believes Rovers are a different proposition than the side that face Doncaster Rovers at the beginning of the season.
Rovers tripped up at the Keepmoat Stadium that Friday in August, losing 2-0 to Paul Dickov's side, but former Donny defender Spurr feels that the Lancashire club are now starting to look the part.
After victory over Leeds United and a draw in the FA Cup with Manchester City, Spurr knows it is vitally important that Rovers continue their unbeaten start to 2014 and go on a run in the league.
"I'm happy to be playing and part of a good side with good lads who are all working hard and playing for each other, the club, the manager and the fans," said the 26-year-old.
"It is nice that there's an atmosphere like that around here. It is a pleasure to be a part of something, and hopefully we can be a part of something really good by the end of the season.
"When you look at the amount of new players that have come in it isn't going to happen overnight when we don't know our best team.
"It is just finding the best way to win games and I think performances over the last month have been good, we probably deserve more points than what we have got.
"So hopefully that bit of luck will change and we can go on this run that we keep talking about and pick up points and get into that top six."
