GB: We have to kill games off

31 January 2014

Boss Gary Bowyer has called on his team to be more ruthless and to convert more chances when presented to them.

Not for the first time this season, last Tuesday saw Rovers dominate the match at Barnsley, creating a whole host of chances, but ultimately only left Oakwell with a point.

Now as Rovers prepare to face Blackpool at Ewood Park this Saturday, the manager knows that the players have to kill off games when given the opportunity.

"At Barnsley we were pleased with the performance first half especially," said Bowyer.

"That was the most one-sided game that I've seen in a long time yet they go and score against the run of play.

"We've watched it again on the video and the way that we played and the chances we created was excellent.

"But we have to develop this ruthlessness now to carry it on and really put a game to bed because we can't rely on anything else except ourselves.

"That has got to be the aim for us, to capitalise when we are being so dominant. That is the next stage of development for us."

Tickets for Saturday's match against Blackpool are currently on open sale. Tickets are priced from £19 for Adults, £12 Seniors and £7 Juniors. Why not book online today and collect your tickets from the Blackburn End collection point on the day of the game.
