Ewood travel advice

29 January 2014

Rovers supporters are advised to take extra time getting to this Saturday's and future Ewood matches.

This is due to National Rail undertaking maintenance works at the railway bridge on the A666 Bolton Road close to the Lockmill Service Station.

The work is scheduled to last for 12 weeks and will continue on a 7 day a week basis. During this time traffic management will be controlled by manually operated, temporary traffic signals which will inevitably create delays.

These delays will impact on traffic movement around the one way system at Ewood as well as road users travelling in and out of Blackburn. Due to the nature of the work the traffic controls cannot be taken off around match days but they will be subject to review after the next two games.

Also, gas main repairs are taking place on the A666 at Earcroft over the next six weeks with temporary lights in place between Pitville Street and Hollins Grove Street, so lengthy delays are expected on matchdays.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area with alternative routes signposted via Hardman Way, Marsh House Lane, Roman Road, Stopes Brow and Greenbank Terrace to junction five of the M65.

Tickets for Saturday's match against Derby County are on open sale and will be available up to the 3.00pm kick-off.

Prices are from £19 for Adults, £12 Seniors and £7 Students. Book online today at and collect your tickets from the Blackburn End collection point on the day of the game.
