Gary Bowyer has told his young side to go out and enjoy themselves at the Etihad Stadium this evening.
After the 1-1 draw at Ewood ten days ago, Rovers make the short journey to Manchester to face City in the FA Cup with Budweiser 3rd round replay.
"It is fantastic, everyone is excited, relishing the challenge of going to a fantastic stadium to play a fantastic team," said Bowyer.
"We've got everything to gain, no-one outside of our dressing room gives us a prayer and those are situations that we quite like.
"We are learning more and more about our players and they are really going to be tested on Wednesday, so from a staff point of view we are looking forward to it to learn about them and the players are really excited at the opportunity to play against them again."
The display in the 1-1 draw at Ewood Park means Rovers can go to the Etihad in good heart, but Bowyer knows that City are a totally different proposition on home soil.
Manuel Pellegrini's side have won 14 of their 15 home outings this season, only losing at home to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
"No-one gave us a chance the last time we played them and we managed to get a draw." added the manager.
"I think the organisation and the discipline that the players showed was fantastic. The spells when we did have the ball we used it quite well.
"At times our set-plays put them under a little bit of pressure and that is something that we will look to try and do again.
"They are formidable at home but we'll be telling our players to go and have a good go at it, enjoy it and express themselves. Go and see how far they have come."
Tickets will go off sale at Ewood Park at 4.00pm today. Supporters can buy on the night at the ground from the stadium ticket office at the north end of the Etihad. Prices are from £15 Adults, £10 Seniors/16-21yr-olds and £5 Juniors.
