Chris Taylor feels Rovers can use the good display against City at Ewood as the incentive to perform again at the Etihad this evening.
Rovers impressed on home soil in their FA Cup 1-1 draw just over a week ago, more than holding their own against illustrious opposition.
Now as Rovers head to the Etihad Stadium for tonight's replay, the midfielder believes anything can happen on the night.
"We managed to get a good result against probably the best team in the country at the minute, so we go again on Wednesday night and hopefully we'll put on a similar performance," said Taylor.
"We want to give them a game like the first match and hopefully we can play our game and cause them a few problems.
"We have to go there with a positive mindset and try and give them a good game. The lads are full of confidence, City is a game we are really looking forward to."
Taylor, like the rest of the squad, knows that the match certainly won't be easy, but it is a challenge they are more than up for.
"To play Man City at the Etihad at the minute is probably the biggest challenge to try and get a result as far as places go," added the former Oldham star.
"So for us to get a result is going to be extremely difficult, but it is a challenge that we are looking forward to and hopefully take on.
"You can't be daunted, these are the games you want to play in."
Tickets will go off sale at Ewood Park at 4.00pm today. Supporters can buy on the night at the ground from the stadium ticket office at the north end of the Etihad. Prices are from £15 Adults, £10 Seniors/16-21yr-olds and £5 Juniors.
