Gary Bowyer hailed his match winner Rudy Gestede after another impressive display from the striker.
The start to 2014 couldn't have gone better for the Benin international, grabbing his first Rovers goal in the 2-1 win over Leeds United on New Years Day, signing a permanent three-and-a-half year deal with the club, and playing a huge part in earning Rovers an FA Cup replay with Manchester City.
The 25-year-old then followed that up by scoring the only goal of the game on Saturday as Rovers defeated Doncaster 1-0 at Ewood Park. Much to the delight of his manager.
"The desire to make the ground up and score was unbelievable from the big man," Bowyer told Radio Rovers.
"We knew he would bring that to the team and it is something different for us.
"I think there is loads more to come from him, he needs to get fitter and when he does he'll be even more of a handful.
"But the contribution that he has made so far we are very pleased with."
Gestede and Rovers are back in action this Wednesday night when they take on Manchester City in the FA Cup 3rd round replay. Tickets for the Etihad clash are on sale right now at www.onerovers.co.uk. Prices are from £15 Adults, £10 Seniors/16-21yr olds and £5 Under-16s.
