But manager Gary Bowyer was all smiles after teaming up with a local business, who have donated a new workshop for training ground maintenance man Frank Murphy.
Life-long Rovers fan Mick Patton, who owns MAP Garden Furnishings Ltd in Clitheroe, said: “We did a simple storage shed for the new artificial pitch, as part of the requirements for the EPPP. We then made a 33ft x 10ft unit for the kitman and have now donated a 10ft x 8ft workshop.
“The ongoing relationship has been really great. I wasn’t expecting anything in return, but Frank arranged for me to meet Gary Bowyer, who presented us with a signed shirt, which was a nice surprise and it’s great that the club are supporting a local business like ours.”
Frank added: “I moved up from the Academy to the Senior Training Centre, so needed a new shed and Mick has really helped us out. The sheds are outstanding quality. I gave him a tour of the training ground, which he really enjoyed, and sorted him out with some tickets for the Blackpool game, so it’s been a mutually beneficial arrangement.”
MAP Garden Furnishings Ltd is located within Hansons Garden Centre and has a large show site, retailing a wide range of high-quality sheds, summerhouses, greenhouses, kennels, playhouses, log cabins and workshops.
