Rovers winger Markus Olsson was the guest of honour at a glittering awards ceremony which recognised the achievements and contribution to the community of young people across Lancashire.
The Swedish international was on hand to present the Sporting Achievement Award at the Celebrate Youth ceremony, which was held at Park Hall.
The event, which was organised by Lancashire County Council's Young People's Service, identified the county’s top young performers in areas such as volunteering, community engagement and sport.
Markus was joined on stage by Lancashire County Council's director for resources and planning, Mike Hart, to present 13-year-old Ryan Grenfell with his award.
Ryan, from Bacup, won gold at the 2013 World Kickboxing Championships in Cyprus, despite suffering a broken toe in the build-up to the tournament.
Markus said: "It was great to meet a young man who's so passionate about his sport. He's a worthy winner and I'd like to wish him all the best for the future."
