Matt Kilgallon was delighted to see defensive partner Grant Hanley get amongst the goals at the weekend.
The 30-year-old central defender, who will come up against Middlesbrough who he spent a month on loan at earlier in his career, felt that Hanley's goal was coming and was somewhat of a relief when it arrived.
Rovers were comfortably leading Blackpool 1-0 at Ewood Park last Saturday, but it wasn't until Hanley powered home Craig Conway's 83rd minute corner than they could breathe easier.
"I was constantly running back with him saying you could have scored three," said Kilgallon. "That was the hardest chance of them.
"He's brilliant to play next to, he covers you, he wins the ball and he fully deserved his goal.
"For his years he is vocal. We like to talk on the pitch and I think it is a good thing to have."
Kilgallon is full of admiration for the Scottish international and believes that he has the world at his feet - or even his head!
The defender added: "At 22 he hasn't even started peaking when you are a centre half. I'd like to think that I'm only starting to come into my prime.
"He's got a great career ahead of him if he keeps his head down - which is hard to do because it is so big!
"He could be as good as he wants to be really, he's a big lad, he's got pace, he's good on the ball and he can head it a mile. The world is his oyster, it is up to him now on how good he wants to be."
