Evans to get Reserve run-out

10 February 2014

Corry Evans will make his long-awaited return to action in an outing for the Under-21s this evening.

Eric Kinder's side take on Tottenham Hotspur at Leigh Sports Village with the Northern Ireland international named in the squad.

The midfielder hasn't featured for Rovers since sustaining an ankle ligament injury whilst playing for his country back in October, but after four months out, Evans was an unused substitute in Saturday's draw with Middlesbrough.

Also involved this evening is January signing Bryan Dabo. The likeable midfielder hasn't  yet made an appearance for Rovers since joining on loan from Montpelier so will be eager to impress against Spurs.

In defence, Will Beesley makes his first start of the campaign, whilst Ryan Edwards is back after a hernia operation. Deniz Pero leads the line up front.

ROVERS: Raya, Fernandez, Beesley, Evans, Edwards, Tumwa, Mahoney, Lenihan (c), Pero, Dabo, Bauress.

Subs: Rittenberg, Urwin, Preston, Cotton, Cham.

Kick-off at Leigh Sports Village is at 7.00pm, season ticket holders can see the match for free on production of their season ticket cards. General admission prices are £4 Adults, £2 Concessions.
