Conway can play a massive part

4 February 2014

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer was delighted with the way new signing Craig Conway performed on his league debut for the club against Blackpool at the weekend.

The Scottish international, signed from Cardiff City a mere 24 hours before Saturday's Lancashire derby, hadn't even trained with his new team-mates, but the manager believes he has seen plenty already to be excited about.

"Craig Conway's deliveries were outstanding, we've already seen what a massive part he is going to play for us," Bowyer told Radio Rovers.

"His general play was good as well, I saw him ping one out wide to Kingy and then sprint to get in the box. That is the desire and the determination that we need.

"He's a good player, he's an international and he handles the ball very well.

"He's going to be massive to us this season, he is going to be a really good addition."

Rovers and Conway are back in action next Saturday when they take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside. Tickets are currently on open sale priced at £27 Adults, £17 Seniors and £14 for Under 18s. Book online today at www.onerovers.co.uk.
